A Friendly Reminder to Shumway Owners

In an effort to maintain the livability and peaceful enjoyment of the Shumway association as well as preserve our investments, the Shumway Board of Directors would appreciate your cooperation with the following reminders to the Declaration and Rules.

 

Exterior Improvements and Installations

 

-Attaching planters or pots to railings, placing pots directly onto the ledges of

 decks, or on the surface of decks and patios is strictly prohibited.

 

-Pots and other items such as fountains must be elevated off of deck surfaces.

 

-Any penetration into the buildings exterior siding / stucco is prohibited as it will cause damage and effect future warranty claims.

 

-The Board of Directors must approve any changes in the appearance of a unit’s exterior such as sun shades, doors, rails etc. prior to installation. This is to ensure uniformity and protect the buildings from damage.

 

Please be aware that the Board of Directors has pre-approved a specific company to be used for all sun shade installations at Shumway. You may contact CDC Management for more information.

 

Note: The cleaning of the copper column caps should be done with soap and water only as Brasso and other cleaning agents will cause damage such as discoloration.

 

Noise and Disturbances

 

Please be considerate of your neighbors and always be aware of how your noise level may be affecting their right to the peaceful enjoyment of their home.

 

Voices travel far so consider the time of day and your location such as patios, decks and common areas.

 

If you are planning on having a party at your home, notify owners around you of the event and be open to requests to reduce noise levels.

 

Major appliances should not be used after 10:00 pm and before 7:00 am, this includes washers, dryers, vacuums and dishwashers.

 

Smoking

 

Please remember to pick up cigarette debris and dispose of them properly at all times and be considerate of others when smoking on decks, patios, and in common areas as smoke travels easily into homes through open windows and doors.
